The Center for Court Innovation, a project of the Fund for the City of New York, is a unique non-profit organization that promotes new thinking about how to reduce crime and incarceration while strengthening public trust in justice. The Center creates operating projects that test new approaches to problems that have resisted conventional solutions. Nationally and internationally, the Center performs original research on topics of justice reform and provides consulting services to criminal justice innovators.
The Center seeks an energetic, well-organized, and entrepreneurial individual to aid in its efforts to provide expert assistance to jurisdictions across the U.S. and internationally. This role will include serving as the project manager for a new national effort to prevent youth violence in minority communities. The Center helps judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and community groups that are planning, implementing and strengthening innovative approaches to local public safety problems, including violence prevention projects, alternative-to-incarceration programs, community justice programs, and public health initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the Project Manager for the Minority Youth Violence Prevention initiative, co-funded by the Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Justice's Community-Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office
- Providing and coordinating the delivery of expert assistance to multiple jurisdictions, including the grantee sites of the Minority Youth Violence Prevention project
- Serving as a liaison between researchers and practitioners to facilitate program evaluations
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with justice practitioners across the country and internationally
- Hosting structured site visits to the Center's demonstration projects in New York City
- Responding by phone or email to requests from practitioners for expert assistance
- Providing in-depth expert assistance to individual jurisdictions to plan, implement, and strengthen community courts and other innovative justice initiatives
- Speaking at conferences about criminal justice reform
- Traveling to other jurisdictions to provide on-site expert assistance
- Organizing training events, roundtables, and other activities
- Assisting in the development of practitioner tools and other written and multi-media resources
- Assisting in the research and writing of reports, proposals, and other documents
- Working with the Technical Assistance team to forge, implement, and track department strategies
- Working with the Technical Assistance team to develop and maintain relationships with clients and funders
- Performing other duties as necessary to support the Technical Assistance team's activities
Qualifications: BA/BS required and graduate degree (ideally JD) preferred; well-organized, entrepreneurial self-starter with exceptional analytical skills; at least 3 years relevant experience, preferably with criminal justice and/or juvenile justice reform; ability to communicate and work with diverse groups of people including individuals with criminal backgrounds; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and ability to work well with others. Excellent written skills are a must. Candidate must be skilled communicator able to work in multi-disciplinary setting and maintain strong relationships with multiple agencies and organizations.
