Wednesday, December 23, 2009 01:37Media shield legislation which provide protection on the federal level for the journalist-source relationship passed the Senate Judiciary Committee Decemember 10th by a 15 to 4 vote, Mainjustice.org reports.
The legislation includes bloggers, citizen journalists and freelancers in its description of freelancers. Many states have media shield laws on their books, but this would be the first Federal law.
