One week after dual explosions rocked Boston — killing three, injuring at least 200 others and bringing an early end to the city’s annual marathon — Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been charged with using a weapon of mass destruction.
Tsarnaev had his initial court appearance today from his hospital room, where he is being treated for multiple injuries sustained during a shootout with police on April 19.
He is specifically charged with one count of using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and one count of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device resulting in death.
