Shena Hardin, 32, held a court-ordered 22-inch sign in Cleveland today reading, "Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus," reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Cleveland Municipal Judge Pinkey Carr ordered her to stand where the incident happened between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. today and Wednesday. Today, she smoked a cigarette and texted on her cellphone while she held the sign.

Hardin pleaded guilty to failure to stop for a school bus. Carr said Hardin did not appear to be remorseful and that that played a part in her sentence. Witnesses said she had driven on the sidewalk, which is next to a day care center, on several occasions, the judge said last week. Hardin's license was also suspended for 30 days, and she was ordered her to pay a $250 fine.
