This year’s conference topics include an analysis of the current immigration policy state of play, immigrant integration in an era of budget cuts, immigration court reform, issues related to enforcement of immigration laws, and humanitarian issues for Haitians, refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable populations. Speakers include Eric Schwartz, assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration; Phyllis Coven, acting director of the Office of Detention Policy and Planning, Department of Homeland Security; and Tara Magner, senior counsel, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
